Financial Aid Information
Charles & Sue’s School of Hair Design knows that the financial aid process can seem a little intimidating. Our friendly staff will help you navigate the process and complete the forms – but beyond the technical aspects, our staff will show you the genuine care and concern that has made Charles and Sue’s a “family” for over fifty years.
We want you to truly understand and be comfortable with your financial aid and your own personal financing plan. To make this easier for you (and your family members), we provide a virtual library of information and explanations of all aspects of financial aid and student financing. Our Financial Aid Information webpage contains an extensive menu with links to all the information you need. Of course, our friendly staff is also here to answer any questions!
Federal Pell Grant
A need-based grant provided by the federal government to low-to-middle income undergraduate students. Unlike loans, Federal Pell Grants do not need to be repaid, making them a valuable source of financial aid for eligible students.
Direct Subsidized Loan
A federal student loan for undergraduate students with financial need. The U.S. Department of Education pays the interest on the loan while the student is in school at least half-time, during the grace period (the first six months after leaving school), and during approved deferment periods.
Direct Unsubsidized Loan
A federal student loan available to eligible undergraduate students, regardless of financial need. Unlike subsidized loans, interest accrues on unsubsidized loans while the student is in school and during grace periods or deferment.
Direct Parent Plus Loan
A federal loan available to parents of dependent undergraduate students. These loans are credit-based, and parents can borrow to help fund their student’s education. Interest accrues from the time the loan is disbursed.
